The boys cross country team competed in the Brown County Eagle Classic Invitational on Saturday, September 14. The overall race, with 40 schools total, is broken down in schools with enrollment of under 1000 (Class A) and over 1000 (Class AA). Eastern finished in 3rd out of 21 schools in Class A. Leading the way was Khalil McDaniel, who finished 7th in the division out of 134 runners. Other top runners in order of finish were Reid Prindle (39th), Dakota Jackson (41st), Josh Ratts (44th), Dalton Jackson (57th), and Cody Shepherd (58th). The race proved to be a good indicator of both how the boys will perform in the Mid Southern Conference and at the Bedford Sectional. Eastern defeated all of the conference schools in attendance, including North Harrison, Salem, Corydon, Austin, and Silver Creek. The boys also placed ahead of sectional contender Edgewood. The boys have two meets this week: Christian Academy Invitational on Tuesday, September 17th and the Crawford County Invitational on Saturday, September 21st.
