Eastern Softball team travelled to Clarksville last night and lost in 7 tough innings, 9-13. Offensively we started off strong with two hits by Ryana Watson and Darcee Rogers and scoring one run in the first and had stellar defense to keep the lead. Second inning brought two hits from Courtney Hoke and Megan Alexander scoring yet another run to bring the lead 2-0. Bottom of the second errors from the defense and Darcee Rogers giving up 5 hits in the bottom of the second gave way to Clarksville scoring 5 runs. Solid defense in the 3rd kept both teams at by but Eastern rallied back in the 4th to score 4 runs with 3 walks and a double by Morgan Martin. Rogers gave up 3 hits in the 4th but solid defense and key plays kept Clarksville to only scoring one run, tying the score 6-6. Offense slowed down for Eastern in the 5th and 6th inning with only one hit but exploded in the 7th with 3 runs being scored. Questionable calls ended the inning and the rally for Eastern. Putting the final score 9-13. Having hits on the night were Morgan Martin, 1 double and 2 RBI’s. Ryana Watson had 3 hits. Darcee Rogers had 2 hits with 1 RBI. Courtney Hoke and Megan Alexander both had hits for the night. |
