Early boost from B. Stewart helps Eastern gets past Paoli, 9-5
Five first-inning runs helped the Musketeers to a 9-5 win over Paoli at Paoli on Saturday.
Eastern scored in the first on an RBI single by Brant Stewart, a wild pitch, a two-run triple by Jacob Stewart, and an RBI single by Gavin Hurst.
Stewart had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.
Jordan Eberle worked out of three tough situations for Eastern. He pitched 7 innings and allowed one earned run on seven hits. Eberle faced his trickiest spot in the fourth inning.
Hayden Woolsey, Austin Hedrick, Stewart and Hurst helped lead Eastern. They combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
Roberts ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
Eastern Musketeers Varsity added three more runs in the top of the fifth. A single by Hurst ignited the offense,, plating Oliver Adams and Stewart.
