Hayden Woolsey’s big day at the plate propels Eastern past West Washington 7-2 in game 1 of the county tournament.
Eastern’s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 7-2 win over West Washington on Saturday at Eastern.
Eastern Musketeers Varsity scored in the first on an RBI single by Jacob Stewart, a bases loaded walk by Miller, & a wild pitch.
Eastern Musketeers Varsity was led by Woolsey’s hitting. Woolsey went 3-4 with 2 RBIs that ignited Eastern’s runs.
Clayton Purlee kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven West Washington batters. Purlee allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks over six innings.
Seth Miller of WW ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
