Austin Captures Lead Early To Defeat Musketeers
Musketeers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-1 loss to Austin on Thursday. Austin scored on a double by Craig and a triple by Turner in the first inning.
Musketeers captured the lead in the first inning.
Austin took the lead for good with three runs in the first inning. In the first Craig doubled off of Dawson Petro , driving in one run and Turner tripled off of Petro , driving in two runs.
Austin scored six runs in the third inning. The big inning for Austin came thanks to a single by Hollan, a stolen base , a single by Napier, a single , and a triple by Smith.
Jacob Stewart and Payton Miller each managed one hit to lead Musketeers. Musketeers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hunter Anderson had the most chances in the field with five.
Austin collected 13 hits. Smith, Turner, Craig, and Buhr each collected multiple hits for Austin. Smith led Austin with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases. Austin didn’t commit a single error in the field. Napier had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
