Stewart Strong At The Plate As Musketeers Defeats Orleans
Jacob Stewart collected four hits in five at bats, as Musketeers defeated Orleans 8-5 on Tuesday. Stewart homered in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.
Musketeers earned the victory despite allowing Orleans to score three runs in the seventh inning. Orleans’s big inning was driven by a single by Powell and a single by Pate.
Orleans took an early lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Powell drove in one run when he singled.
Orleans evened things up at two in the top of the second inning. Edwards singled on a 3-1 count in the second inning, scoring one run.
Musketeers took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth there was an error, scoring one run and Rhett Pennington tripled off of Buechler, driving in one run.
Orleans scored three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Orleans came thanks to a single by Powell and a single by Pate.
Musketeers had 12 hits in the game. Jacob Stewart, Payton Miller , and Ridge Hall each collected multiple hits for Musketeers. Musketeers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Stewart had the most chances in the field with nine.
Orleans collected ten hits. Edwards, Powell, and Qualkenbush each collected multiple hits for Orleans.
