Eastern (Pekin) Varsity Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat New Washington
Eastern (Pekin) Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 9-7 victory over New Washington on Tuesday. The game was tied at seven with Eastern (Pekin) Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Jacob Stewart’s sac fly scored one run for Eastern (Pekin) Varsity.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Eastern (Pekin) Varsity collected nine hits and New Washington had four.
New Washington took an early lead in the first inning. Aj Walten was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, New Washington tied things up at seven when Zack Steel drew a walk, scoring one run.
Eastern (Pekin) Varsity tallied three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Eastern (Pekin) Varsity was led by Payton Miller, Hunter Anderson, and Cauy Motsinger, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Edlin, Snelling, and Stewart each managed two hits to lead Eastern (Pekin) Varsity. Conner Gonzalez led Eastern (Pekin) Varsity with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
