Anderson Drives In Four As Eastern (Pekin) Varsity Defeats South Central
Hunter Anderson drove in four on two hits to lead Eastern (Pekin) Varsity past South Central 14-4 on Wednesday. Anderson drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the second, and a walk in the sixth.
South Central got things started in the first inning. Crosier grounded out, scoring one run.
Eastern (Pekin) Varsity evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning when Anderson doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Eastern (Pekin) Varsity pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Snyder Pennington doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs and Anderson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Eastern (Pekin) Varsity notched four runs in the fourth inning. Eastern (Pekin) Varsity offense in the inning was led by Rhett Pennington, Cauy Motsinger, Landon Snelling, and Snyder Pennington, who all drove in runs.
Rhett Pennington pitched Eastern (Pekin) Varsity to victory. He allowed five hits and three runs over five and a third innings, striking out two. Ryan Adamson threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Adamson recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Eastern (Pekin) Varsity.
