Eastern (Pekin) plays a solid ball game tonight against the Corydon Panthers as the Musketeers take the victory 4-1.
The Musketeers got things started in the second inning. An error scored one run for Eastern (Pekin).
The Panthers evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning when they snuck in a run on a passed ball. The Pekin Grind pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning as Braydon Snelling singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Then Adam Stewart delivered some insurance with base hit to left center in the 6th inning scoring 2 more for the Musketeers.
Snyder Pennington led Eastern (Pekin) to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The righthander surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out 10.
Justin Drury took the loss for Corydon Central Panthers. The hurler surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out three.
Conner Gonzalez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Eastern (Pekin) in hits. The Musketeers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Yancey Edlin had the most chances in the field with 12.
Tyler Stark led Corydon Central Panthers with two hits in three at bats.
