Eastern (Pekin) lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat to Charlestown on Monday. Charlestown trailed 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning when McCoy singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Charlestown pitchers struck out 12, while Eastern (Pekin) sat down five.
