Eastern (Pekin) took home a 4-2 victory over West Washington on Saturday.
West Washington got things moving in the first inning. Rankin doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Eastern (Pekin) took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Landon Snelling doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run and Snyder Pennington singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Rhett Pennington took the win for Eastern (Pekin). He surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings, striking out six and walking zero. Ryan Adamson threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Bishop took the loss for West Washington. He went five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out six.
Eastern (Pekin) racked up eight hits on the day. Adamson, S. Pennington, and Payton Miller each had multiple hits for Eastern (Pekin). Miller, S. Pennington, and Adamson each managed two hits to lead Eastern (Pekin). Eastern (Pekin) was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hunter Anderson had the most chances in the field with nine.
Cox went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead West Washington in hits.
