Eastern (Pekin) fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-6 loss to Providence on Tuesday. Providence scored on a single by Reisinger and a single by Kaelin in the first inning.
Despite the loss, Eastern (Pekin) did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Providence had nine hits on the way to victory.
Providence opened up scoring in the first inning. Reisinger drove in one when Reisinger singled.
Eastern (Pekin) tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Eastern (Pekin) was led by Ryan Adamson and Braydon Snelling, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Jackson earned the win for Providence. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four. Vissing and Julius entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Yancey Edlin took the loss for Eastern (Pekin) . Edlin surrendered six runs on six hits over four innings, striking out four.
Cauy Motsinger went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Eastern (Pekin) in hits.
Providence scattered nine hits in the game. Kruer and Reisinger each collected multiple hits for Providence.
