Eastern’s Lady Musketeers claimed a second sectional championship in as many years. The Ladies won a physical game that had both teams in foul trouble throughout the game. It was a defensive struggle that would come down to who could hit their free throws at the end of the game. Eastern was 13 of 14 from the line in the final period. This was enough to overcome a five point deficit late in the game.
The game turned when Shelbi Patton stole the ball at mid court and laid it in for Eastern’s only field goal in the final period. Patton was 4 for 4, Sill was 4 for 4, McKinley was 2 for 2 , Claywell was 2 for 2, and Crumpton was 1 for 2 in the final period.
Claywell led all scorers with 12, Patton and SIll each had 8, Crumpton had 5, McKinley had 4, and Graves had 2. The Ladies advance to the Paoli regional next Saturday,
