Eastern (Pekin) jumped out to an early lead over Scottsburg Warriors and took home a 16-1 victory on Thursday. Eastern (Pekin) scored on an error and an error in the first inning.
Eastern (Pekin) notched six runs in the third inning. The Musketeer batters contributing to the big inning included Cauy Motsinger, Carson Ehlers, and Ryan Adamson, who all drove in runs.
Payton Miller got the win for Eastern (Pekin). He lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out five.
Cole Atha took the loss for Scottsburg Warriors. He allowed four hits and eight runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking zero.
Eastern (Pekin) launched one home run on the day. Adamson put one out a Grand Slam in the third inning.
Eastern (Pekin) tallied 12 hits in the game. Motsinger, Conner Gonzalez, and Hunter Anderson each collected multiple hits for Eastern (Pekin). Motsinger led the Musketeers with three hits in four at bats. Eastern (Pekin) didn’t commit a single error in the field. Anderson had the most chances in the field with six.
Ethan Mullins went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Scottsburg Warriors Varsity in hits.
