Snyder Pennington was an RBI machine on Tuesday, driving in four on three hits to lead Eastern (Pekin) past Paoli 11-2 on Tuesday. Pennington drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the third, and a single in the fifth.
Eastern (Pekin) secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fifth inning. Adam Stewart, Ethan Ford, Conner Gonzalez, Cauy Motsinger, Pennington, and Brant Farris each drove in runs during the inning.
Paoli got things started in the first inning when Rominger singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Eastern (Pekin) pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Pennington homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Stewart singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Eastern (Pekin) notched seven runs in the fifth inning. Stewart, Ford, Gonzalez, Motsinger, Pennington, and Farris each had RBIs in the big inning.
Pennington earned the victory on the hill for Eastern (Pekin) . The pitcher surrendered two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out 12. Motsinger threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Motsinger recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Eastern (Pekin) .
Patton took the loss for Paoli. The pitcher allowed eight hits and six runs over four innings, striking out five.
Eastern (Pekin) hit one home run on the day. Pennington had a homer in the third inning.
Eastern (Pekin) collected 12 hits. Pennington, Motsinger, and Stewart each collected multiple hits for Eastern (Pekin) . Motsinger and Pennington each managed three hits to lead Eastern (Pekin) . Eastern (Pekin) didn’t commit a single error in the field. Braydon Snelling had 14 chances in the field, the most on the team.
Paoli saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. Little and Livingston all had multiple hits for Paoli. Paoli was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Little had the most chances in the field with seven.
